The hazard perception test is part of the theory test and you have to pass both the question part and the hazard perception part at the same time.
The questions come first and then the hazard perception. There is a short expalnation at the beginning of the test to explain what you need to do.
The test consist of 14 clips of film each lasting about 20-30 seconds. All the clips will have one scoring hazard, apart from one clip which will have two scoring hazards. You identify the hazard by clicking the mouse, although you do not have to move the cursor over the hazard.
The maximum score is 5 per hazard. The hazard perception pass mark is 44 out of 75 - equating to an average of approximately 3 out of 5 for each hazard.
